Material selection
PVC is a vinyl polymer material. Its material is a non-crystalline one, featuring flame retardancy and good chemical stability. It has strong resistance to oxidants, reductants and strong acids, but can be corroded by concentrated oxidizing acids such as concentrated sulfuric acid and concentrated nitric acid. Moreover, it is not suitable for contact with aromatic hydrocarbons and chlorinated hydrocarbons. In practical applications, PVC materials often incorporate stabilizers, lubricants, auxiliary processing agents, colorants, impact modifiers and other additives. For anti-static PVC baseball, it is necessary to select the appropriate PVC base material and ensure its compatibility with other additives.
Anti-static technology
Coating technology: Through coating technology, while retaining the corrosion resistance, flame retardancy and other properties of PVC, it also has excellent anti-static function. For instance, coating a layer of anti-static film on the surface of PVC can effectively prevent the generation and accumulation of static electricity.
Anti-static additives: Special anti-static additives are added to the PVC substrate. These additives can prevent the accumulation and aggregation of electric charges, thereby effectively eliminating static electricity phenomena. The types and amounts of additives need to be adjusted according to specific requirements to achieve the best anti-static effect.
Structural design
Multi-layer composite structure: A multi-layer composite structure design can be considered. For instance, the outer layer is a PVC layer with anti-static function, providing anti-static protection. The inner layer is a high-toughness PVC layer or other lightweight material layer, providing the necessary mechanical properties and weight reduction.
Surface treatment: Special treatment is carried out on the surface of baseball, such as increasing surface roughness or adopting micro-nano structures, which helps to reduce the accumulation of static electricity and improve anti-static performance.
Processing technology
Injection molding temperature control: During the injection molding process, it is necessary to precisely control the temperature to ensure that the PVC material is fully plasticized and avoid thermal decomposition, thereby guaranteeing the stability of anti-static performance and other physical properties.
Mold design: The mold design needs to take into account the shape characteristics of the baseball and the anti-static requirements. For instance, the surface of the mold needs to be polished to reduce demolding resistance and enhance the surface quality of the product, while ensuring the uniformity of the anti-static coating.
Post-treatment process: Eliminate internal stress and enhance dimensional stability through heat setting treatment. For products with high surface hardness requirements, UV-cured coatings can be used to enhance wear resistance and protect the anti-static layer from damage.
